Completed projects from second quarter:

Here are some of my recently completed projects.
Creature Dance:
Completed on: 1/24/2012
This project was a test to see if I could create and animate a simple 3D character in Blender.  I learned how to model characters with simple geometry and how to create an armature and rig bones to a mesh.

Blender Motion Track Test:
Completed on: 1/12/2012
This project was my first attempt at motion tracking using Blender 2.61’s new Tomato Branch video motion tracking feature, I learned how to add and adjust tracking points and to solve motion into a 3D space.

TF2 Holiday Hat (Santa’s Head Elf):
Completed on: 11/18/2011
The goal of this project was to create a winter themed hat for a video game called Team Fortress 2.  I learned how to import the game’s official .smd files into Blender, and how to assign my own hat model to the charter’s head bone.  I textured the model using Photoshop and I learned how to write a simple .qc script file that tells the game engine how to use the model and team colored textures.  When I finished the model I submitted it the creators of TF2.
TF2 Holiday Weapon (Holiday Honey Ham):
Completed on: 11/21/2011
The goal of this project was to create a winter themed weapon for a video game called Team Fortress 2.  I used my knowledge of how to extract and import the game’s official .smd files into Blender so that I would have a reference model to work from.  I learned how to create a normal map using Photoshop and VTFedit. I learned how to create more complex jigglebones in the .qc script file.  When I finished the model I submitted it the creators of TF2.
